Compliance Required for Pre-Clearance Procedures

Compliance Required for Pre-Clearance Procedures

We convened with representatives from clearance companies and the General Customs Department to discuss the upcoming implementation of the pre-clearance system set to commence on Saturday, July 31, 2021. It is imperative that customs declarations are submitted at least three days prior to the vessel's arrival in our territorial waters. Failure to adhere to this timeline will result in a penalty of 100 dinars for late submission of a declaration. Should this non-compliance occur again, the fine will escalate to 500 dinars.

In light of this, we kindly request that the relevant parties ensure all necessary documentation for incoming shipments is submitted to us 72 hours before their expected arrival. This will allow us to properly organize customs data and prevent any late registration penalties.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
